End of year poll - results!

I thought I'd do a poll to find out what everyone thought of Erasure "events" in 2001 and your hopes for 2002 (plus a couple of extra questions). Here are the results!. Thanks to everyone who voted.

Best Erasure or related release/event of 2001?

Winner: Moon And The Sky Plus - 46 %

Box Sets 3 & 4 - 33 %

Wheatus covering 'A Little Respect' - 17 %

Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle - 3 %

Radioactivators single - 1 %

No real surprises here as Moon And The Sky featured the only new material Erasure released in 2001, (well, new versions of an old song and acoustic songs that were only available on a promo CD or a compilation). I was a little surprised how many votes Wheatus received, but I suppose the fact that it reached number 3 in the UK charts did make it quite a major event!.

Erasure disappointment of 2001?

Winner: No tour - 48 %

No chart eligible second single release from Loveboat - 34 %

No North American release of Loveboat - 18 %

Almost half the voters went for 'no tour' as their biggest disappointment. No surprises there really either. It doesn't seem that long ago, but it's been 5 years now since the Cowboy tour!.

What (possible) Erasure or related release/event are you most looking forward to in 2002?

Winner: New Erasure album - 55 %

A tour - 41 %

Andy Bell solo album - 3 %

More Vince Clarke side projects - 1 %

Andy has a bit of a mini-victory as his solo album received a few more votes than Vince's side-projects!. But 96 % of voters prefer A+V as 'Erasure' rather than seperately (if that makes sense!).

Remixers who should be brought back in 2002?

Winner: William Orbit - 30 %

Gareth Jones - 21 %

Moby - 19 %

Jason Creasey - 9 %

Mark Saunders - 7 %

The Millionaires - 6 %

Matt Darey - 2 %

Sleaze Sisters - 1 %

BK - 1 %

ATB - 1 %

Paul Oakenfold - 1 %

Flood - 1 %

Dave Bascombe - 1 %

Bruce Forest - 1 %

The Grid - 1 %

Youth - 1 %

William Orbit remixed Supernature and Star (Interstellar mix) for Erasure before he became famous for producing people like Madonna and All Saints, so no surprises he's a popular choice. Gareth Jones is currently working with Erasure on their new covers album and has remixed their songs many times, including Blue Savannah (Der Deutsch Mixes 1 and 2), You Surround Me, Star (Soul Mix), Stay With Me (Guitar mix) and more... and of course Moby is now v. famous for his own music so he is another popular choice. He has previously remixed Chorus (Vegan Mix). The most popular of the recent remixers is Jason Creasey, who's re-mixed Freedom and Moon and The Sky.

Best Erasure album ever?

Winner: Chorus - 24 %

Erasure - 21 %

The Innocents - 17 %

I Say I Say I Say - 13 %

Cowboy - 9 %

Wild! - 6 %

Loveboat - 4 %

Pop! The First Twenty Hits - 3 %

Wonderland - 3 %

The Circus - 2 %

The Two Ring Circus - 0 % (aw!)

I thought it would be interesting to ask this question whilst we're between albums to get a more accurate view of the fan's favourite album. Chorus and Erasure were neck and neck until near the very end when Chorus received a few more votes. Poor old Two Ring Circus didn't receive one vote, though it's not really a *proper* album so no surprises really. ('No surprises' is starting to become a popular phrase in my poll results "summing up"!).

Favourite section of Erasurette?

Winner: News - 58 %

Audio - 12 %

Pictures - 10 %

Rarities - 5 %

Interviews - 4 %

Chatroom - 4 %

Polls - 3 %

Everything - 2 % (Thanks! :-)

Messageboard - 1 %

Jackie's little comments scattered about the site every once in a while. Very amusing. - 1 % (Thanks! :-)

I liked the last comment (which *was* a surprise, for a change!). My little comments aren't something I've really thought about before, but it's nice they're appreciated!. Let's hope there's exciting news soon as that's the most popular section by far! (and I'm not going to say 'no surprises' again!).
